Wayne A. Bomberger, age 84, of Greeley, Kansas died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home. He was born on Saturday, May 12, 1928, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Peter and Alice (Berghahn) Bomberger

Wayne has lived in Greeley since 1986 moving from Olathe, Kansas where he lived for twenty-one years having previously lived in many locations following his naval career.

On January 20, 1949 Wayne was united in marriage to Loretta Dooley in Omaha, Nebraska. She survives of the home.

Wayne was a Naval Aircraft Mechanic for twenty-three years retiring in 1970 and a General Service Technician with Olathe Ford for seventeen years retiring in 1987.

served in the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, attaining the rank of ADR1, retiring in 1970 after twenty-three years as an Aviation Machinist Mate 1st Class.

He was a member of Greeley United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his: Wife – Loretta Bomberger of Greeley, Kansas; Son – Russell Bomberger and his wife Carol of Prairie Village, Kansas; Daughter – Jeanne Meador and her husband Jay of Pomona, Kansas; Sister – Faye Johnson and her husband Donald of Omaha, Nebraska; Sister – Helen Wierman and her husband Ron of Arlington, Texas; Sister – Kathleen Miller and her husband Gregg of Elmwood, Nebraska; Brother – Larry Bomberger and his wife Ann of Columbus, Nebraska; Brother – Bill Bomberger and his wife Vicki of Tucson, Arizona; Grandchildren – Six and Great Grandchildren - Sixteen.

He is preceded in death by his: Parents – Peter and Alice Bomberger; Sister – Lela Gotschall; Sister – Eileen Ebner; Brother - Peter Bomberger, Jr. and Brother – Ben Bomberger.

SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held at Greeley United Methodist Church, 204 N. Main, Greeley, Kansas, 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 17, 2012.

IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Bomberger at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday, December 15, 2012 and 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, December 16, 2012.

CEMETERY: Interment Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas, 2:30 P.M. Monday, December 17, 2012, with honors by United States Navy.
