Frank A Dahl, 93, of Corry, died on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Erie. He was born on December 8, 1919, in Corry, a son of the late Gust H and Eva E McKinney Dahl. Frank was raised and educated in Corry and graduated from Corry High School. After high school, he worked for Corry Jamestown Corp for a short time before entering the US Army during World War II. While in the army, Frank was a cook in a medical unit and served in Trinidad and Europe. When he returned home, he resumed working for Corry Jamestown as a welder. He worked there for more than 46 years, retiring in 1984. From 1957 to 1969, Frank and his family lived in Clymer, NY, and owned a operated a dairy farm. Frank was a member of VFW Post 264 and American Legion Post 365, both in Corry, and a past vice president and member of the negotiating committee for Machinists Local IAMAW Lodge 1097. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and baseball and especially attending Corry girls' softball games. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Dale Earnhardt. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death on October 10, 2008, by his wife, Ellen Jaquith Dahl, whom he married on October 15, 1946, in Corry; a step-daughter-in-law; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Bachman; and two brothers, William and Herb Dahl. Frank is survived by a daughter, two sons, and a step-son. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
