Another pioneer of the town of McMillan has passed to the great beyond. August Hahn aged 74 years and 12 days passed away Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Budtke of Staadt. He was taken sick while paying her a visit and gradually grew worse until relieved by death.
Deceased was born in Germany and came to this country in 1857 settling in Sheboygan county. Thirty years ago, he came to Marathon Co. and selected a good farm in the town of McMillan where he has since resided a model farmer and citizen. He is survived by his aged wife and eleven children all married. They are Edward Hahn, Mrs. Frank Schilling, Mrs. Wm. Hinkforth, Mrs. Gus. Luchterhand, and Mrs. Wm. Somers of McMillan; Mrs. Charles Deering, and Mrs. Jos. Pflum, this city, Mrs. Frank Budtke, Stadt, August Hahn, Menasha and Oscar Hahn of Stratford. In addition there are 45 grand children and one great grand child. The funeral was held Wednesday from the German Lutheran Church in the town of McMillan, interment being made in the Marshfield cemetery. He will ever be remembered as a kind and generous neighbor and an honest upright citizen. The funeral was largely attended.
