Joyce Elaine Day Albrecht age 76, was called home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2008, at home in Monticello, Arkansas after suffering from a long illness. A long time former resident of Portland, Texas, Joyce was born on September 1, 1931 in Calais Maine.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Randolph J. Day and Pauline Cookson Day O'Leary; grandson, Wesley W. Albrecht; and her brothers Luther Day, John Day, Gene Day and Irish M. O'Leary.
She is survived by her children, Barry (LeeOla) Albrecht of Taft, Texas; Paul Albrecht of Portland, Texas; Randy Albrecht of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Tommy (Judy) Albrecht of Haltom City, Texas; Jimmy (Tammy) Albrecht of Monticello, Arkansas, and Tammy (Todd) Oehlke of LaGrange, Texas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, TX. on January 14, 2008. Funeral services were held January 15, 2008 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home. The Reverend Jimmy Albrecht officiated.
Pallbearers - JJ Albrecht, CJ Albrecht, Bryan Albrecht, Matt Albrecht, Steven Albrecht and Todd Oehlke. Honorary pall bearers - Irish Mike O'Leary II, William Albrecht, Royce Albrecht, Klause "Detter" Huache, Dan Stevens and Shane Riddle. A graveside service and internment were held at San Patricio Memorial Gardens.
