Barbara was born to David & Cecile (Pecot) Ivy who were living at 1715 Fairview, Houston, TX. In September they moved to a 2 story brick house on Peden street not far from downtown Houston, where she lived till she married Murray Bartkowiak in 1963. She attended St Agnes Academy for first grade and Holy Rosary 2nd to 8th grade. She began taking Ballet at the Kotchetovsky School of Ballet at age 9 and continued until she graduated in 1962. She also attended St Agnes Academy for her 4 high school years, graduating in 1962. She and Murray had 3 children, Laura, Natalie and Steven who were only 5,3 and 1 when she died tragically at the age of 24. Murray died a year and a half later and so Laura was adopted by her grandparents, Merle and Marion Bartkowiak and Natalie and Steven were adopted by their uncle and aunt Robert and Dorothy (Polito) Bartkowiak. Barbara and Murray now have 7 grandchildren.
