Rosanne "Rosie" Klein, 93, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in Rockford Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and her special caregivers, Larry Lamb, Krystle Davis and Alice Bloom.
She was born May 28, 1919, in Rockford, the daughter of Rosario and Marie (nee Cacciatore) Chiarelli. Rosie married Robert Klein on Sept. 14, 1957, in Rockford; he predeceased her Jan. 31, 1999. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Co., until she started her family. After that she worked at the Giant Store for many years. Rosie was a charter member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where she was a Sacristan for many years, and was a member of the Ladies of St. Bernadette and National Society of Forresters.
Survived by sons, John (Lisa) Klein of Minneapolis, MN and Tim Klein of Rockford, IL; daughter, Maria Howard of Loves Park, IL; special adopted daughter, Shar Gerdeman; grandchildren, Rebecca Anne, Ryan Robert, Michael Robert and Dylan Timothy; her many special nieces and nephew.
Predeceased also by sister, Sarah Cacciapaglia; brother, John Chiarelli; and special nephew, Wilford B. Cooling Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2330 Bell Ave. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., with the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 7:45 pm.
