Helga Elisabeth Brigitte Hetes, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away at her family home. She was called home to her savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Helga is the daughter of Robert and Magdalena (nee Klein) Schoenberner and was born in Radschuetz, Silesia on Wednesday, June 24, 1942. Her parents and her sister, Barbara Gerber, of Bayreuth, Germany, preceded her in death. Helga is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Ronald A. Hetes, son, Ronald R. Hetes and his wife, Debra, daughter, Ylaine R. Hetes, grandchildren, Jade M. Hetes, Michael A. Hetes, and Nichole E. Hetes, all of Rio Rancho, NM, sister, Regina Patzer and her husband, Floyd of Jeffersonville, IN, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates after a 30 year career in the food service industry, most recently at NM Bakery Service Co. After retirement, Helga volunteered her time and artistic talents at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. Helga was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and derived great joy from doting upon others. Helga was a humble, charitable and devout Catholic who always put others ahead of herself. Helga had a genuinely warm smile and pleasant hello for all of those she met. Helga would light up a room, always had a melodic tone in her voice and a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. Helga was a true follower of Jesus Christ, never questioned her faith, and without fail, she would recognize the positive in any situation. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss Helga, our Kolibri, "alles ist klar, Hans." A Rosary will be held on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community with Mrs. Dora Sandoval reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church with Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
