He had six siblings, namely: Bertha Wilhelmine Augusta, William, Carl F., Fred, Wilhelmine Augusta, and Hannah. He died on 16 Aug 1924 in Dunnell Village, Martin County, Minnesota. His cause of death was Carcinoma of stomach, angina pectoris. When he was 21, He married Hannah Johnson,daughter of William J. Johnson and Rebecca A Dale, on 11 Sep 1870 in Winnebago, Faribault, Minnesota, USA.
