MILLER – Edwin E. "Ed" Eisenbraun, 85, of Miller died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Ipswich, with the Rev. David Fuerstenau officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the G.A.R. cemetery at Miller.
Edwin Erhard Eisenbraun was born May 12, 1913, to Henry and Friedericka (Schaeffer) Eisenbraun on their farm at Tripp. The family later moved to Creighton, where he grew up. In 1938, he moved to the Miller area, where he worked as a farm and ranch hand.
On July 15, 1944, he married Sylvia Engelmann. After renting several places in Hand county, they purchased the Julius Ufen farm in 1966, where they lived until her death.
On Aug. 31, 1980, he married Emily (Sanford) Eiffler and moved to Hinckley, Minn., where he lived until his second wife's death. A short time later, he moved to Miller Manor in Miller.
On Oct. 9, 1994, he married Doreen (Breitung) McGeorge. They lived at Miller Manor until his death.
He was baptized at Tripp, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 1, 1928. He was a member of First Lutheran church at Faulkton at his death.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen, of Miller Manor; his stepchildren, Richard (Kathy) McGeorge of Eau Claire, Wis., Rem (Marla) McGeorge of Highmore, and Ruth (Ernie) Peters of Hot Springs; one step-grandson and three step-granddaughters; one brother Gotthold Eisenbraun of New Underwood; two sisters, Tillila (Robert) Denke of Wall and Hulda (James) Haney of Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first two wives, and two brothers, Rudolph and Ferdinand.
