Ethel Murray Hicks, 90, of 2804 Foust Road, Staley, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Staley.

Officiating, Rev. Todd Moore.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Ethel was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and she possesed a strong character throughout her life. She was a Randolph County native, retired from Burlington Industries in Greensboro, Liberty Chair in Liberty, and a life long member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Staley. Preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Florence Pugh Murray, brother, Max Murray, sisters, Blanche Thompson and Beulah Williams, and son-in-law, Jerry Farrington.

Survivors: husband of 69 years, June Brady Hicks, of the home, daughter, Barbara H. Farrington, of the home, son, Larry W. Hicks, Sr., and wife, Sylvia, of Staley, grandchildren, Larry Hicks, Jr., and wife, Wanda, Jason Hicks, and wife, Jessica, and Adam Hicks, three great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.

Visitation, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, and other times at the residence.
