Sidney Grignon Rites Wednesday
Sidney S. Grignon, 67, of Shawano, died early Sunday (August 10) at the Veteran Hospital in Milwaukee after being hospitalized about a month. Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Shawano with Rev. Daniel Prickett in charge.
Mr. Grignon was born Nov. 9, 1890 at Antigo, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Grignon and lived in Antigo until 1907 when he moved to Shawano with his parents. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1909 and served two years in the army in World War I and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He served with the National Guard, Company F. 4th Wis. Infantry.
Mr. Grignon was married to Sarah Zingler in 1923 at Shawa-no and resided here since their marriage. He was a painter and interior decorator and a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his wife and three sisters, Mabel and Eva Grignon of Shawano; (Happy) Mrs. Clayton Hemsey of Tomah, a brother, Wilbur Grignon of La Mesa, Calif; and 49 nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Karth Funeral Home in Shawano on Tuesday and at the church from 11 a. m. Wednesday until time of service. Masonic and military rites will be conducted at burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
