Ana Maria Gonzalez, 81, passed away December 30, 2012, after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on January 12, 1931 to Felix & Febronia Perez in Tamaulipas, Mexico. She married her husband of 51 years at the age of 30. Ana Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking old family recipes for her seven children and 14 grandchildren. Her love of community and her generous spirit will live on after death.
Ana Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Conde Gonzalez, her father, Felix Perez and her mother, Frebronia Perez. She is survived by children; Jesse Gonzalez, Irma (Rudy) Torres, Maria Hernandez, Dolores (Jeanpascal) Ferrand, Pedro (Christina) Gonzalez, Felix (Diana) Gonzalez, and C.C. (Jake) Gonzalez-Kurz; siblings, Luis Perez Garza, Juanita Perez Garza, Silva Margarita Perez Garza, Leticia Perez Garza, Felix Humberto Perez Garza and Ana Cristina; and 14 loving grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013, with a rosary to be recited at 7p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 3rd at Corpus Christi Cathedral, with an interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park.
