EDWARD ROBERT "ED" BLANCHETTE, age 86, a resident of Irving, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at an Irving care center. Born July 15, 1926 in Fall River, Massachusetts, he was the son of Alex Blanchette and Delvina Lapina Blanchette. Ed was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his son, Bob Blanchette and wife Mary of Moore, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and, sisters, Cecil Cummings and Rita Provost. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Graveside service is 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane C. Following the graveside, a Celebration of Ed's Life will be held at The Irving Elks Lodge, 2015 N. Britain Rd., Irving, TX 75061.
