Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Edward A. Schueller, 96 a resident of Davenport, will be 11:15 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Kahl Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10:15 to 11: 15 a.m. at the Kahl Home. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Mr. Schueller passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, W. Central Park Ave, Davenport.
Edward Andrew Schueller was born on April 9, 1916 in Dubuque, Iowa, a son of Frank H. and Rose (Herber) Schueller. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Budde on December 31, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN. After 38 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on June 19, 1980. He later married Irma Walsh on March 24, 1985 in Davenport. She preceded Ed in death on August 22, 1994.
Ed had worked for over 47 years for Crescent Electric Company, retiring in 1983 as general manager. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of BPOE.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus or St. Anthony's Care and Share.
Mr. Schueller is survived by his sons: James Schueller, Holly Springs, NC, Thomas Schueller, Davenport, and Steven Schueller, Cocoa, FL; 8 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; numerous loving members of the Walsh family; a brother, Kenneth (Doris) Schueller, Denver, CO; a daughter- in-law, Rosie Schueller, Davenport; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, 9 sisters and 3 brothers. May they rest in peace.
