Mr. Speth was born on a farm near Belmont. He attended the Belmont schools and lived in the Belmont area until 1952. He lived in Rockford, Ill., where he was employed in a furniture factory from 1952 to 1957. For the past two years he had made his home with his daughter in Devils Lake, N.D. His wife died in 1920.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Dreher, Minneapolis, Minn., and Miss Delphone Speth, Devils Lake, N.D.; one son, Delbert Speth, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Steinhoff, Platteville; one granddaughter, and many other relatives.
