JAY B. LIPPINCOTT
Publisher Dies of Pneumonia at His Home Here
Jay B. Lippincott, a member of the J.B. Lippincott Publishing Company died at his home, 2031 Pine street, Thursday night of pneumonia. The funeral will be held today and the interment will be made at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Floyd W. Tomkins, of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate.
Mr Lippincott was born in 1872. He received his early training at a Philadelphia Friends school and was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1892. In 1897 he married Miss Camilla E. Hare, of Washington. They were divorced three years later, and in 1915 Mr. Lippincott married Mrs. Mary Ludlow Bogert Huntington, of Flushing L.I.
Mr Lippincott was a polo player of reputation and was a member of the Philadelphia Country Club team that captured the Polo Association cup at Bala in 1897, the Rittenhouse, Racquet, Radnor Hunt, Philadelphia Country and Huntingdon Valley clubs. Upon the death of his father he inherited a large fortune. He is survived by his widow and two daughters, Pricilla and Camilla, children from his first marriage.
