Obituary — Peter —
Mrs. Barbara Peter, nee Zimbleman, was born November 13, 1864, in Rohrbach, South Russia.

When she was eight years of age, she came to this country with her parents. They settled in Sandusky, Ohio. In 1882 the family moved to Fillmore County, Nebraska.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Faith of God and was true to her faith and teaching. Her life was a testimony to her experimental knowledge of God. She was devoted and faithful in her servics to the church.

She was married February 25, 1887, to Andrew Peter. To this union was born ten children, four sons and one daughter preceded her in death. Her husband passed away July 20, 1924.

After five months of illness her prayer was answered when she was called into her eternal haven of rest on March 31, at 2:00 a.m., in the Ansley hospital. She attained the age of 82 years, four months and eighteen days.

She leaves to mourn two sons and three daughters: Leon, Hastings; Arthur, Sutton; Mrs. Edgar Griess, Lodi, Calif.; Mrs. Edmund Hamburger, Gering, and Mrs. John Ochsner, Comstock, Nebr., with whom Mrs. Peter made her home since 1938; 34 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Also one brother, William Zimbleman [sic], Colome, S.D., and one sister, Mrs. Tina Ochsner, Hastings.

She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and her many friends.

Funeral services were held at Comstock at the Methodist church on Wednesday, April 2, at 2 o'clock with Rev. Smith in charge, and at the Methodist church in Sutton on Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Calvin Stuebbe and Rev. Max Christopher officiating. A quartette composed of Rev. Calvin Stuebbe, Rhiney Ehly, Thomas Engelhardt and Lawrence Schmidt sang two hymn accompanied at the piano by Mrs. B. E. Krantz.

Pallbearers were Gustaz [sic] Zimbleman, Fred Peter, Evon Grosshans, Elmer Nuss, Theodore Serr and Harold Ochsner. Interment was in the Sutton cemetery.
