Deceased Name: ROSE KATHRYN (MILLER) MARTIN
APRIL 1918 -- APRIL 7, 2009

Born in Richmond, California to Joseph Miller of Vienna, Austria and Julia Demcowicz Miller of Sanok, Poland, who both emigrated from Dobra, Poland in 1912.

Rose is the third of nine children. She attended school in Modesto, married Nathaniel D. Martin and dedicated her life to raising her two sons, Jimmy Lee Martin (deceased) and Robert J. Martin of Modesto/Escalon. Rose moved to the Fike /George Miller ranch where she shared her fondest times with her sons.

Rose had been employed by Nickel News and by Security Title, Western Title and Fidelity Title, all Modesto companies, where she was a title searcher for 40 years.

She was known to have the green thumb of the family. She loved her rose and camellia garden and always shared it with family and friends, including fellow members of the Modesto Garden Club and Modesto Camellia Society. (She is to have a hybrid camellia named after her by a fellow member of the Society). Rose was also a member of the Empire Grange, Empire Women's Club, and Empire Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing with her family.

Rose was a resident of Bethel Assisted Living in Modesto until she joined her family: son Jimmy Lee Martin and his wife Shirley (Martin) Tufol, parents Joseph and Julia Miller, siblings John Miller, Ellen Van de Pol, Pete Miller, Josie Miller, and two twin brothers.

Rose is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Robert J. Martin and Zulema (Sue) Martin, brother George J. Miller, sister Marjorie (Miller) Van de Pol, grandchildren Melissa Martin, James Martin, Marcela (Martin) Huntington and Jennifer (Martin) West, and four dear great-grandchildren.

We will miss your smile, your warmth and your loving and caring ways, Mom. One day we'll all be able to smile and laugh together again.
