Charlotte A. (McClain) Milligan
Waynesboro, Pa.

Charlotte A. (McClain) Milligan, 78, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg, and formerly of 91 S. Price Ave., Waynesboro, died Monday evening, July 11, 2011, in the Chambersburg Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past six months.
Born Jan. 9, 1933, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Lewis N. and Loretta (Harbaugh) McClain. She lived her early life in the Sabillasville, Md., area and attended Thurmont High School.
She and her husband, the late Rudy R. Milligan, were married on June 15, 1957, in Sabillasville, Md. They moved to South Price Avenue in 1994. Mr. Milligan died on May 17, 2010.
Mrs. Milligan was an operator for United Telephone Co. for 11 years. She was also employed at various local stores, including Smith's Drug of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Worth's in Waynesboro and Grant's in Waynesboro.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Sabillasville, and enjoyed playing cards, especially canasta.
She is survived by three children, Sharon Y. Logan of Parker, Colo., Ramona D. Gerbig of Orlando, Fla., and Reynold N. Milligan of Cascade, Md.; two grandsons, Travis Gerbig and Jared Gerbig, both of Orlando; her sister in law, Mary Frances Dimeo of Newville, N.J.; and two nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty M. Martin.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Janet Comings and Pastor Joanne Gaver officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. John's Church of Christ, P.O. Box 137, Sabillasville, Md. 21780 or Bethel Church Cemetery, P.O. Box 400, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. 17214.
