He was born June 8, 1934 in Turtle Lake, WI to William and Ella (Graffing) Fenske. On August 6, 1955 Harlan was married to Shirley Mae Crotteau in Pine City, MN. In 1957 he entered the United States Army serving until 1959. Harlan farmed for 33 years, but also worked for Birchwood Manufacturing, Seneca and drove a milk route.
Harlan Fenske is survived by 2 sons, Wayne (Paige) Fenske of Mt. Home, AR and Alan (Jodene) Fenske of Rice Lake, WI; 4 daughters, Barbara (Thomas) Gagner of Rice Lake, WI, Cathy (Thomas) Oleskow of Weyerhaeuser, WI, Beverly (Brian) Frazier of Bloomer, WI and Debbie (Jody) Herrman of Rice Lake, WI; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray (Rose Mary) Fenske of Eau Claire, WI; 2 sisters, Lorraine Cimfl and Florence (Clarence) Strand all of Rice Lake, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Fenske; son, Kevin Fenske; grandson, Ryan Fenske; granddaughter, Brooke Fenske; parents, William & Ella Fenske; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John & Clara Crotteau.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spooner, WI where Military Rites will be accorded by the Rice Lake Veterans Center Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
