A graveside service for John Lee Gibbs of Albany will be Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Friday from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mr. Gibbs, 76, passed away Monday at Willson Hospice House in Albany. He was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Jasper Jack William Gibbs and Veronica Gibbs. A retired truck driver, Mr. Gibbs was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his son, John R. Gibbs of Mountain Home, NC; his former wife, caregiver and best friend, Maurice Case Curry of Albany; a brother and sister,J.W. Gibbs of Sylvester and Barbara Theus of Warner Robins; and two granddaughters,Tabitha Nichole McCombs and her husband, Jason of Valdese, N.C. and Kayla Renee Gibbs of Hendersonville, NC.
