Bertha Jordan 1917-2003
Bertha Jordan, 85, of Great Bend, died Aug. 7 at Central Kansas Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 29, 1917, at Ness County, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Elizabeth Miller Scheck.
She married Kenneth A. Jordan June 16, 1940, at Great Bend. He died May 10, 1979.
A longtime resident of Great Bend, she was an Avon representative.
Mrs. Jordan was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Ron Jordan of Henderson, Nev.; one daughter, Sharon Pollard of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Solomon Scheck, Dan Scheck, Abraham Scheck, Benjamin Scheck and Herman Scheck; and three sisters, Molly Popp, Marie Rahm and Martha Wittig.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Diana Coberly officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery north of Great Bend. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home.
