Kevin Darnell Jones, 34, departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, in Sumter County. Born Nov. 2, 1977, in Sumter County, he was a son of Esau Billie and Minnie L. Billie (Larry).
Suddenly there shined all around him a light from heaven, Kevin smiled and answered this call as many others have done. He went from this life to glory.
Kevin attended the public schools of Sumter County.
He leaves to cherish fun, loving memories: his mother, Minnie L. Billie (Larry) of Sumter; his father, Esau Billie of Thomasville, N.C.; stepfather, Stanley Kinder of Sumter; one son, Kaveonntia Jones of Sumter; one daughter, Amayo Brown of Myrtle Beach; one stepson, Nizavian Bratton of Sumter; a special friend, Satara Sharper of Sumter; two sisters, Renee Billie and Santna Billie of Sumter; four brothers, Lamar E. Billie, James L. Billie and Steven Jones, all of Sumter, and Sergio Bowman of Summerton; one grandaunt, Bessie M. McKnight of Thomasville; one granduncle, Dan Wells Jr. of Alcolu; one godmother, Diane Kelly of Alcolu; a special aunt, Ruth Ann McFadden of Sumter; a host of special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Neal and Thelma Jones; and an uncle, Charles Jones.
Funeral services will be held at Westminister Presbyterian Church USA, 9124 Plowden Mill Road, Manning, with Pastor Gloria Williams, pastor, eulogist.
Burial will be in Wells Cemetery, Plowden Mill Road, Sumter.
