Shullsburg Boy is Killed By Sister

Kenneth Wurm, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wurm, died Saturday night 15 minutes after he was accidentally shot with a .25 caliber automatic revolver in the hands of an older sister at their Shullsburg, Wis. home.

The boy had taken the gun, which belonged to his father, from a dresser drawer and went into the yard where he intended to fire it. His sister, Lorraine, 18, who was in charge of the house while her parents were on a vacation trip to Milwaukee, asked him to give it to her, fearing that he might injure himself, witnesses said.

The boy gave the pistol to his sister and she fired it with the intention of emptying it of bullets and then had her brother remove the clip while she still held the gun.

Kenneth was walking toward the house when a bullet which remained in the clip was accidentally fired by the sister as she was holding the weapon.

The boy reached the house and dropped dead.
