Died Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Senior Star Assisted Living Center in Davenport, Iowa. Lloyd was born April 9, 1922 at Silver Mines, Missouri, the son of Samuel Huston and Flava Young Mouser.
Lloyd's wife of over 70 years, Mildres Marie Wengler Mouser, preceded him in death. Also preceding Mr. Mouser in death were his parents, Samuel and Flava Mouser; and brothers, Champ Clark Mouser, James Alford Mouser, Harrison Delmar Mouser, Floyd Hilton Mouser, Charles Wendel Mouser and William Harry Mouser.
Survivors include his son Gerald Mouser, who lives with his wife, Patricia in Draper, Utah; daughter Nancy Mouser Feeney, who resides with her husband Mark Feeney in Bettendorf, Iowa; sister, Faye Lorraine Mouser Stevens Phillips of Crestwood, Missouri; grandchildren, Bryan Mouser (wife Kristina Teters) of Draper, Utah, Paula Mouser (husband Michael Cecoteau) of Columbus, Ohio, Pamela Mouser (finace Martin Coster) of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, Adam Feeney (wife Megan Shank) of Brooklyn, New Your, and Claire Feeney of Chicago, Illinois; five great grandchildren; Brandon, Derek, Ethan and Zayla Mouser of Draper, Utah, and Neil Liang Feeney of Brooklyn, New York, with another great grandson due in March.
He was known to many as Pete and lived nearly his entire life in the Madison County Area. he attended school at Silver Mines and married Mildred Marie Wengler at Saint Michael Catholic Church on April 5, 1940. During World War II, Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean, achieving the rank of Ship's Serviceman, Second Class. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, he and Mildred lived near Fredericktown. In the early 1950s he began employment for Mississippi River Transmission Company, working primarily at Twelve Mile Station south of Fredericktown.
The couple resided in Madison County until 1950 when they moved their family to a subdivision near Crystal City, Missouri, while Lloyd worked at a nearby fertilizer plant. They lived there for twelve years, returning to Madison County in 1968. At that time they purchased the Frank Wengler farm southeast of Fredericktown, where they built a small house. Lloyd continued to work for Mississippi River Transmission Company as a compressor station operator, retiring in 1980. For the next thirty years, he and Mildred continued to live on their farm outside of Fredericktown until Mildred passed away in December o 2010.
