Son of Wm H Bell and Sarah Weatherford.

Married Ibbie Pool on Nov 12, 1855 in Breckinridge Co., KY. They had two children, Malcolm, a son who lived just 4 months before he died in Dec 1886 and a daughter Sallie, his only surviving child.

After Ibbie's death, he married Mrs. Artemissa Dowell Bandy. They had no children together. At the request of his new wife, his daughter went to live with relatives. Upon Artemissa's passing, Robert came to Texas and developed a relationship with his daughter and and grandchildren.
