Laura was born on May 11, 1916 in Barry County, Missouri, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Friday) Witt. Some of her elementary education was at St. Mary's Catholic School. In her younger years, she was an active member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Legion of Mary. Laura had many joys in her life including playing Pitch and was the family Checker champion.

She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Rob Yonker; one great-grandson, Doug Perrin; one sister, Elizabeth Witt; and seven brothers, Ed Witt, Albert Witt, Joe Witt, John Witt, Glen Witt, Ben Witt and Emil Witt. Those left to celebrate her life, include five children, Dale Wolf, and wife Rosalee, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Donna Harvey, of Pierce City, Sharon Bell, and husband Don, of Gladstone, Missouri, Ronald Wolf, and wife Mary, of Shell Knob, Missouri and Linda Yonker, and husband Bob, of Pierce City, twenty-one grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Laura was a huge presence in her children's and grand-children's lives. Her favorite place on earth was her home and springtime was her favorite season, so she could look forward to planting her yard with flowers.
