Frank Ilg was born Franz Jakob Ilg in Germany. He made his voyage over to the United States in 1888 and was naturalized October 25, 1895. He married a German native, Pauline Kimmerle November 25 1889 in St. Louis, Missouri. During this life they had a total of 9 children, but only 4 survived until adult hood and only 2 married and had children. He was killed tragically at his job. He was operating a machine with another person, when the other person slipped and something came down and struck him in the head. He worked in a shoe factory. He is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, but because the family was poor, there is no headstone. Most of the family is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery, except for some infants who were buried in Holy Ghost Cemetery before it closed and one son (my great grandfather) who was cremated.

***As far as I can tell with my research, this is my great, great grandfather Frank Jacob Ilg. I have proof he was buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery and there is no other grave marker with that name that fits. I have the paperwork from the cemetery, but when they transferred everything over to computer some information was lost. So they do not have a correct death date or burial date for Frank Ilg. But I have a death certificate that states he was buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
