Karen Marie Madison passed away, Jan. 24, 2013, at her home in Mammoth Spring, Ark.

Karen was born to Emma and Carl Groeger in Troppau, Czechoslovakia, and raised in West Germany.

She married Sgt. William O. Madison in 1967, and raised their two sons on numerous military posts around the world until William retired in 1978, and moved the family to Fairbanks.

Karen worked at several daycare centers, and finally at Perdues Jewelry as a salesperson, as well as performing some jewelry repair.
William passed away in 2001; and in 2008, Karen and her son, Dirk, from Florida, moved to Mammoth Springs, Ark.

Karen enjoyed gardening and the beautiful country life, until the end. She was also a great cook, and made jewelry and crafts which she enjoyed giving as presents to family and friends.
Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

She is survived by her sons and their families; William Dirk Madison, of Mammoth Spring, and Bert Madison and his wife, Sandra; daughter, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Denique, Faith and Chance; and Klause and family of Germany.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William O. Madison; and her parents, Carl and Emma Groeger, of Germany.

There will be no service. Karen will be cremated, and her ashes placed on the hills which she loved and watched over. We will miss our mother greatly, but know that one day we will all be reunited. Published in Daily News-Miner on January 26, 2013
