In an application for a passport the following was stated: I swear that I was born in Larache Morocco on the 23rd of July 1854 and emigrated to the US sailing on board the Olymphia from Gibraltar on or about the 11th day of October 1880. And I have resided 16 years in the US from 1880-1897 at Boston, Mass and New York and was naturalized as a citizen of the US before the Circuit Court of the US Mass DIstrict at Boston on 29th day of Aug 1888.
