Gerhard Frank Bax Sr., 81, Freeburg, died Thursday at Charles E Still Hospital.
He was born December 8, 1907, at Koeltztown, a son of Joseph and Katherine Kloeppel Bax. He was married May 15, 1934, at Freeburg, to Nathild Bernadine Raab, who died Nov. 19, 1982.
A member of the Holy Family Catholic church, Freeburg, Mr. Bax was employed at Quaker Window Products Co., Freeburg, for 25 years until his retirement in 1972.
Survivors include: six sons, Gerhard Bax Jr., Victor Bax, Emil Bax, Robert Bax, all of Freeburg, Elmer Bax, Westphalia, Fred Bax, Jefferson City; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Luebbering, Wardsville, Mrs. Rita Luebbering, Westphalia, Mrs. patricia Nelson, Jefferson City; one brother, August Bax, Koeltztown; 30 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. John Groner officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm today and from 9-10:30 am Saturday at the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna, with a rosary a5 7:30 pm today.
