Heart Attack, Striking Without Warning, Causes Sudden Demise
Mrs. Susan Blaise, wife of Harry Blaise, died suddenly at six o'clock this morning at the family home, 2005 West Third street. Mrs. Blaise appeared in usual good health upon her retirement last evening. Death, which came without warning, was attributed to a heart stroke. Funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home. The Rev. E. C. Rorke, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal church, will conduct the services. burial will be in the family space in Grand Island cemetery.
Susan Louise Kehm was born in this city Dec. 8, 1895, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Kehm. She attended city schools and, upon the completion of her education, was employed by the Northwestern Bell Telephone company. On July 16, 1920, at Gibbon, Susan Kehm and Harry Blaise were united in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Blaise made their only home in this city.
Surviving, besides her husband are her aged father, Jacob Kehm, Sr., this city; five brothers, Henry, Jacob,, Jr., John, Alex, and Adam Kehm, all of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Orr Cummings of North Platte, and Mrs. Martin Campbell of Dannebrog. she was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Jacob Kehm, Sr., and an infant brother, George.
