Della Myrl (Rawson) Hesse, 90, of Henderson, Colorado and formerly of Carrollton, Texas passed away in Denver on February 1, 2013. She passed after a brief illness and was surrounded by her loving sons and other family members. Services were held on February 5 in Englewood and internment was beside her husband and infant son at the Littleton Cemetery. Della was born on September 22, 1922 in Eckley, Colorado to Charles and Luie Rawson. She was raised with her three sisters and two brothers on a farm in Eckley and went to school in Eckley. In 1942, she married George Manley Hesse and to this union, four sons were born. She was a devoted wife and mother, and eventually a proud grandmother of ten and great grandmother of fourteen. While her children were growing up, Della was a wonderful homemaker for her family, setting up homes in various places in both Colorado and Texas. In 1969, she lost her husband and following his death she moved to Carrollton. At that time, her children were grown and gone and she started a second phase of her life by providing child care for other families as well as lending her attention to detail and her strong work ethic to helping others as a housekeeper. She had many of the same clients for more than 30 years and became a part of their families as well. She enjoyed baking and made homemade bread for her entire life, having only started buying store bought bread when her eyesight in recent years made it hard for her to continue baking. She was loved by her grandchildren for her delicious cookies and candies that were a treat to receive during the holidays. Della was fortunate to have the opportunity to do some traveling and visited such places as Hawaii, various countries in Europe, and the World's Fair in Seattle.
Della is survived by her sons Danny of Carrollton; Ralph and wife Connie of Uvalde, Texas; and George of Henderson, as well as her sisters Doris Crabtree of Englewood and Fern Gilliland of Yuma, Colorado She also had a stepson, Charles and wife Barbara of Sterling, Colorado. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chris and husband Mark Monckton (Alex and Josh) of Yardley, Pennsylvania; Lori and husband Lance Wood (Connor, Carter and Jett) of Midland, Texas; Cathy and husband Bernard Morgan (Thomas) of Hoboken, New Jersey; Shawn and wife Cindy Hesse (Gage and Gunner) of Keenesburg, Colorado; Tanya Hesse of Commerce City; Harper and wife Kim Hesse (Blair and Dallas) and Neland and wife Rachel Hesse (Grayson and Hagen) all of Uvalde, Texas; Cheryl Agro and husband Sean (Cameron and Trent) of Dallas; Tammy Heier and family of Maryland and Cindy Drascick and family of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant son Tommy, parents, sister Marie, brothers Glenn and Ervin, and daughter-in-law, Sandra.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Anthony's Hospital and Hospice of Denver which took excellent care of her in her final days.
