Christopher George Drivas
Mr. Drivas, of Fort Mill, SC died Friday, August 5, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Nicholas and Celia Athens Drivas and was their only child. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest. He loved traveling the world, but found the most joy spending time with his grandchildren at home and in Hilton Head, SC.
Mr. Drivas served in the United States Army before beginning his career in the Insurance Industry. His career included over ten years of service with Royal Insurance Co. of America both in New York and Charlotte. He retired from American International Group as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Engineering Insurance.
Mr. Drivas is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Phyllis and children Jeffrey (Julie) Drivas of Ontario, CA, Gregory Drivas of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Christine (Garett) Lederer of Indian Trail, NC, Barbara (Steve) Staruch of Chandler, AZ and Philip (Jing) Cassaro of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ryan Drivas, Samantha, Shana, Jacob and Emily Lederer and Lily Cassaro, as well as a special aunt and uncle, Christine and George Befarah of Ocean, NJ.
A Memorial Mass and celebration of Chris' life will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 13700 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 on Thursday, August 11th, 2011.
