NEWBURGH - Henry C. Northrip of North Drury Lane, Newburgh, a retired mechanic for Mack Trucks, died unexpectedly Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. He was 68.

The son of the late Henry C. and Henriette "Hattie" Clearwater Northrip Levi, he was born May 30, 1914, in Middle Hope. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Northrip was a member and past deacon of the Wallkill Reformed Church, and a member and past chief of the Coldenham Fire Department. A member of the Orange County Fire Chiefs Association, he was also a member of the Orange County Volunteer Fireman's Association; Freeman's Lodge IOOF; Encampment; Middletown Bowling Association; and Hillcrest Rebbecca Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; Anna Mae Brach Northrip, at home; two daughters: Ruby Huston of Germany, and Ruth Smith of Montgomery; four sons: Kenneth H. Northrip of Walden, Paul H. Northrip of Illinois, Henry C. Northrip Jr. of Alaska, and Carl W. Northrip of California; a brother, Melvin Northrop Sr. of Poughkeepsie; 32 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at John Slone White Funeral Home, 276 North Plank Road, Newburgh.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wallkill Reformed Church, Wallkill. The Rev. Bruce E. Penn will officiate.

Burial will be in Wallkill Reformed Church, Wallkill. Contributions may be made to the Wallkill Reformed Church, Wallkill.
