of the Western Hotel died last Sunday evening from stricture of the esophagus, after a prolonged illness. He was born in Froeschweiler, Prussia April 13, 1830. Emigrated to America in March 1857 settling in Konosha, WI and located in Hastings in 1858.
His first wife, Miss Gertrude Weiler , whom he married in Prussia died here in 1873, leaving a son and three daughters.

Mr. Kimm was a shoemaker by trade but for the past 17 years has been in the hotel business. He was well and favorably known by all the old settlers. The funeral was held from St. Boniface Church on Tuesday at 9am. The Rev. O. Kren officiated. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.
