Avid racing fan enjoyed time on his boat
Charles Joseph "Joey" Ent Jr., age 53, of Bloomsburg and formerly of Fernville, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Geisinger Medical Center.
Joey was born Wednesday, March 11, 1959, in Bloomsburg, the son of Carol A. (Evert) Ent of Bloomsburg, and the late Charles J. Ent Sr.
Joey was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School's Class of 1977.
He was a member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ.
Joey was very outgoing and greeted everyone he met with a smile. He was an avid racing fan, especially of midget racing, and enjoyed spending time on his boat with friends.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Carol, are two sisters: Deborah Ward (wife of Chris) of Eden, Md., and Sandra Gottstein (wife of Kevin), of Bloomsburg; maternal grandmother: Dorothy (Wallen) Evert; nephews: Brandon and Andrew Gottstein, and Kyle Ward; niece: Chelsea Ward, and much-loved companion, Melanie Reichart.
Jen Deutsch was Joey's caregiver for 17 years.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at Trinity Reformed UCC Church, 260 E. Seventh St., Bloomsburg. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Reformed UCC with the Rev. Stephen D. Engelhardt officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park.
