Longtime Stratton, Colorado resident Raymond Rudolf Schulte passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the McKee Medical Center in Loveland. He was 89 years old.

Raymond was born on October 6, 1923 in Windthorst, Kansas to Rudolf and Frances Schulte. Raymond attended school at St. John Catholic School in Spearville. He graduated from Windthorst High School and then attended Dodge City Junior College.

Raymond served in the Army from September 1942 to April 1946. During World War II he was stationed in England, France, Australia and, Germany. After being discharged, he attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

Raymond married Henrietta Herrmann at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dodge City, Kansas on January 24, 1950. After they were married, they moved to a farm near Arriba, Colorado and lived there until 1962, when they moved to a farm and ranch three miles southwest of Stratton. He was very involved in the local community serving as President of the Stratton School Board and on the Production Credit Association Board. He was an active member of St Charles Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. After raising his family and many years in the Stratton Community he relocated to Fort Collins Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Rita Ann Erber, grandson Brian Schulte and his brothers Henry, Bernard and wife Elfrieda, Joseph and wife Clara, John and wife Leona, Clarence and wife Wilma Jean and sister Margaret Stegman and husband William. He is also preceded in death by his brother-in-laws George Herrmann and wife Pauline, and Joe Herrmann.

He is survived by his wife Henrietta, his children Ed (Becky) Schulte of Goodland, Kansas and children Kyle, Kevin (Alyssa), and Korey (Amy); Lois Tilley of Littleton, Colorado and her children Brenda, Jacob, Darin, and Laura; Charlie (Lois) Schulte of Bethune, Colorado and their children Shawn(Tawnya), Keith (April),Ryan, Angela, Alexis and Kimberlie; Allen (Mary)Schulte of Stratton, Colorado, and their children Matthew, Marque and Morgan; Ramona Wagner of Sterling, Colorado and her children Jason and Samantha; Marcia (Rick) Stauter of Greeley, Colorado and their children Alex, Rita and Amy; Dennis (Cathy) Schulte of Eaton, Colorado and their children Grant, Megan and Chad; Robert (Colleen) Schulte of Fort Collins, Colorado and their children Quinn, Nicholas and Jack; 6 great grandchildren Madalyn, Makenzie, Makiya, Kendall, Max and Patrick. He is also survived by a sister, Sister Sylvana Schulte, sister-in-laws Mary Norma Schulte, Rosemary Herrmann, Clara (Charles) Schmitt, Sister Barbra Ann Herrmann and Liz (John) Loibl, and brother-in-law Lawrence (Betty) Herrmann.
