CORINTH, Ky. โ€“ Virginia Elizabeth Myers, 86, of Corinth, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

Born April 6, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Theophilus John and Johanna Bernadetta Otting Kaufhold. She was the widow of Fred A. Myers and preceded in death by her sisters, Florence, Vera Ruth, Mary Lou, Jackie, Phyllis, Aurelia and Geneva. Virginia was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Georgetown and attended Richland Baptist Church. She had a lifelong passion for sports, was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and UK Wildcat fan and also played professional women's baseball on the Tressler Comets when she was younger.

Surviving are her children, Barbara Morgan, Susan Martin, Jim Myers and Jack Myers; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.

Family will receive friends at the Main Street location from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., with Bro. Jesse Bourne and Bro. Brian Blair officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Baptist Church Music Fund.
