Ruth was the second wife of Charles W. Delling, Sr. Of the children mentioned in her obituary, Chuck, Marion, Geraldine, Betty, Ron, and Jack are Ruth's step-children (children of Charles and his first wife Margaret Elizabeth White).

Linda, Daniel, and Andrew were children of Ruth and Charles.

Obituary:

DELLING, Ruth C. - of Clio, age 82, died Friday, February 25, 2005 at her daughter's residence. Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday, February 28, 2005 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Pastor Paul Bradshaw officiating with burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-9pm and Monday from 11am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Ruth was born April 27, 1922 in Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late A.M. and Elizabeth (Hingardner) Joseph. She had resided in the Clio area since 1962 coming from Flint. Ruth married Charles W. Delling Sr. on December 2, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1975. She was employed with Fostrian Manor in Flushing for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed collecting Barbies and working in the yard.

Surviving are: sons, Daniel Delling of Flint, Ron (Elizabeth) Delling of Davison, Jack Delling of Burton; daughters, Linda (Robert) Pretzer of Montrose, Geraldine Besson of Davison, Betty Dorrow of Flint, Marion (Lester) Babcock of Houghton Lake; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Edward "Brudy" (Betty) Joseph of FL, Tom (Milly) Joseph of CA; many nieces and nephews. Ruth was also preceded in death by by her sons Andrew and Chuck Delling, brother Richard Joseph ,sisters Anna Sorvick and Edna Ferrah and 1 grandchild.
