Obituary
Born in Monroe, Sam was the son of Joseph & Rose (Barretta) Mignano. A 1945 graduate of Monroe High School, Sam honorably served his country in the United States Army. He married Virginia Neboyskey on October 8, 1949. Sadly, after 61 years of marriage, she preceded him in death March 3, 2011. Sam worked for over 33 years at Consolidated Paper Company South Side, he then worked at Jeep in Toledo before coming back to work at Detroit Stoker here in Monroe, retiring in 1992. A lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sam was a member of the Knights of St. Joseph and the Knights of Columbus, Monroe Senior Citizens, and former member of the Italian-American Club. He was very active with Relay for Life, the Senior Greenhorn Bowling League and playing Bocce Ball.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory his children; Rosemary Mignano of Monroe, James (Janet) Mignano of Bloomfield Hills, Thomas Mignano of Allen Park and John (Corina) Mignano of Monroe; eleven grandchildren: Christine (Tim) Peiter, Kate Taylor, Joe (Kathy) Mignano, Mike Mignano, Anne Mignano, Sarah Mignano, Michael (Jaime) Mignano, Sven Wollschlaeger, Enzo Mignano, Iana Mignano and Jaxx Mignano; as well as five great grandchildren: Jacqueline, Joseph, Jackson, Sophie and Stella. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law Cristi Mignano; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Neboyskey and Bernice Mignano along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Sam was preceded in death by a son Joseph Mignano; two brothers: Anthony, Joseph Jr. and a sister Bernadetta Mignano.
