Johnnie Dvorak, age, 67, of Lone Tree, died Thursday, February 10, 1994, at Wellman, Iowa following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Lone Tree American Legion with Carol Kaalberg, Parish Life Coordinator, officiating. Burial was held at the Lone Tree Cemetery with Military Services. Sorden's Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

A General Memorial has been established.

Johnnie Dvorak was born May 25, 1925 in Louisa County, Iowa to parents James and Rosa (Florang) Dvorak. He married Laverne Abrams on September 27, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a farmer and business owner. He was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion for 49 years.

Survivors are his wife, Laverne, two daughters: Marsha Graf of Riverside and Cynthia Slaughter of Lone Tree; one son: John Dvorak of Cedar Rapids, also one sister Bessie Wolford of Davenport and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Casketbearers were Jerry Schlapkohl, Joel Johnson, Ben Slaughter, Andy Slaughter, Tyson Graf, Clint Graf, and James Dvorak. Honorary Casketbearers were Joe Mincer, Elmer Galloway, Bill Schlapkohl, and Ben Johnson.
