Carl J. Lawrenz, 89, of Michigan City passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Franciscan Saint Anthont Hospital.

Cremation will take place. Burial will be at a later date in Beatty's Corner Cemetery.

Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Carl was born August 22, 1923 in Michigan City to the late Carl and Mary (Lenschow) Lawrenz.

He married Eva June (Humphrey) Lawrenz and she passed away on March 5, 1981.

Surviving are two sons: John (Marian) Lawrenz and James Lawrenz both of Michigan City; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one brother Rolland (Karen) Lawrenz.

Preceding him in death is one brother Fred Lawrenz.

He was retired from Tonn & Blank after 40 years of service.

He was a proud veteran who was a member of the VFW Popst #2536 and John Franklin Miller American Legion Post #37. He also loved to hunt and fish.
