Evangeline Booth Vita of Lucas, Texas passed away February 21, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born December 23, 1929 to John William and Ada Olivia (Owens) Booth in Callahan County, Texas. Evangeline married Dr. Anthony Edward Vita on October 9, 1954 in Moran, Texas. She was a member of the "Once A Month Wednesday Bridge Club That Met On Tuesdays" and a founding member of the Allen Public Library. Evangeline was involved with numerous foreign missions and was a faithful Christian. She is survived by her sons, Marc A. Vita of McKinney, Texas, Nicholas B. Vita and wife Chandra of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren, Laycee Nichole Skaggs and husband Randall James, Kara Jo Vita and Korey Wade Vita; great-grandchildren, Landon James Skaggs and Mason Nicholas Skaggs, and numerous other relatives and friends. Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Ada Booth, husband, Dr. Anthony Edward Vita; son, Eric Edward Vita, brothers, John J. Booth and Bert E. Booth; sister, Margie Fern Gardner. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas with Rev. John Blacklock officiating. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Anthony E. and Eric E. Vita Memorial Scholarship Fund.
