Judy Ann Abshire, 74, passed away at 2:23 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Avante' of Waynesboro.

She was born on January 26, 1937, in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late William Walker and Essie Virginia Carroll Madison.

She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Lee Abshire; one brother, one sister, and one great- grandson.

Survivors include her two daughters, Norma Kestner of Raphine and Teresa Abshire of Waynesboro; four brothers, William Madison of Ruckersville, Homer Madison of Baltimore, Maryland, Thomas Madison of Stuarts Draft and Roger Madison of Waynesboro; three sisters, Ethel O'Donnell of Grottoes, Betty Claytor of Kannapolis, North Carolina an Faye Cogar of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
