Funeral services for Joy Shiflet, 67, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood, TX. Burial will follow at Barrett Cemetery in Edgewood.
Joy Lynn Davis was born October 20, 1945, in Dallas, TX, to Lawrence and Mildred Lamb Davis. As a life long resident of Edgewood, Joy attended Edgewood schools. Joy married the love of her life, Michael Shiflet, on June 4, 1982, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Edgewood. She loved her family and enjoyed being a stay at home wife and mother. Joy was very creative and enjoyed crafts and making things. She was a member of Words of Life Church.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Debbie Reynolds Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Shiflet of Edgewood; children, Leslie Reynolds and wife, Kimberly of Edgewood, Kirk Reynolds and wife, Christy of Edgewood and Tori Warner and husband, J.J. of Edgewood; brother, Melvin Davis of Edgewood; mother-in-law, Elada Shiflet of Edgewood; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Edgewood on Saturday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.
