Leo Daniel Reichwein

LOCUST GAP - Leo Daniel Reichwein, 70, of 8 Spring St., passed away, Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at his home after battling cancer since January 2010. He was comforted by his caregivers William and Theresa McCarthy, Bruce Russin and Michelle Kerner.
Born in Locust Gap Jan. 14, 1941, he was a son of the late Leo G. Reichwein and Regina (Reagan) Reichwein.
Leo attended Mount Carmel Catholic High School.
He was a former garment factory worker. Leo was also employed as a security guard for the Reading Anthracite Coal Company. He retired in 2003.
He was a member of the Church of Our Lady in Mount Carmel, and was former member of St. Joseph's Church in Locust Gap.
He was an avid bowler, archery expert, fisherman, deer hunter and ice skater. Leo cared very much for his two cats Murray and Tobias, who will miss him greatly.
Leo is survived by a brother, James Reichwein, of Locust Gap; three sisters, Regina Herman, of Ashland, Janet Guzevich and husband, Vincent, of Mount Carmel, and Mary Snyder, of Lavelle; a brother-in-law, Bruce Russin, of Natalie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Reichwein; and two sisters, Margaret Sahonick and Gertrude Russin; three brothers-in-law, William McCarthy Sr., Ronald Berresford and Lamar Snyder.

REICHWEIN - Leo Daniel Reichwein, 70, of 8 Spring St., Locust Gap. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Joseph J. Stutz Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery Locust Gap. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
