Donald Lee Zeitler Sr., 68, of Shippenville, Elk Township (Clarion County) died Friday, May 21, 2004 at Beverly Healthcare, Shippenville, after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Bradys Bend to Edward and Mabel (Kaylor) Zeitler.
Mr. Zeitler was employed by Klapec Trucking in Reno from 1990 to the present.
He served in the Army From 1959 to 1964.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Shippenville.
His memberships included the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose, both of Clarion and the American Legion of Knox.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha (Alexander) Zeitler whom he married Sept. 9, 1961; two sons, Donald L. Zeitler Jr., of Shippenville and Earl Zeitler and wife Carrie of Lincolntown, N.C.; two daughters, Tammy Evans and husband Doug of Shippenville and Millie Zeitler and fiance, Kevin Lauer of Shippenville; four grandchildren, Christy Wolbert and husband Randy of Lucinda, Kelly Evans with the Army stationed at Ft. Lee, Va., Randy Evans of Shippenville, and Alex Henry of Shippenville; a great-grandson, Zachary Wolbert of Lucinda; three sisters, Clara Wilson of East Brady, Lida Blanche King of Grove City and Mary Alice Wiles of Ford City; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, LeRoy, Charles and Raymond Zeitler and an infant brother; and one sister, Anna May Zeitler.
Friends were received Saturday and Sunday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood St., Clarion where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with his pastor, the Rev. Gary Hilfiger, officiating. Burial will be in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville.
