Helen F. Wegner Helen F. Wegner, 85, of Hanna, Wyo., passed away on October 26, 2011.
Helen Fay Neville was born August 3, 1926, on her parents' homestead near Milesville, S.D. She
was the daughter of Dewitt and Harriet (Stiles) Neville and grew up on the family farm with one
sister and three brothers. Her lower education was received from rural schools, Fairplay and Hart
School, from which she rode her horse named Boots, and a couple of years of schooling at Philip
High School. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the First Lutheran
Church of Milesville. Helen was united in marriage to Argel R. Wegner on November 26, 1946, at
Igloo, S.D., and to this union was born two children, Kathleen and Keith. They lived in
Chamberlain, Pukwana and Edgemont, S.D. She worked as a housekeeper in hospitals in those
areas. In 1974, they moved to Hanna, Wyo., and lived there until her health deteriorated. For
the past few months, they had been living in an assisted living center in Cheyenne to be closer to
her doctors. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Argel of Hanna; one son, Keith
Wegner of Hanna; one daughter, Kathleen Barrett and her husband, Mike, of Uhrichsville, Ohio;
one grandson, Raymond Wegner and his wife, Taylor, of Whitewood, S.D. Also surviving are
several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Isaac,
Andrew and Allen, better known as Pug, to his family and friends; a sister, Mary Alice Deuchar;
and a half-sister, Alvina Sykes. Services were held October 31, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church in
Hanna, with Pastor Temme officiating. She was cremated with burial in the Hanna Cemetery.
