Emma Flora Kler was born in Keota, Colorado. She was the daughter of Karl and Flora Kler. Emma married Johannes Fendel 10 Nov 1929 in Greeley, Colorado. Three known children were born to this marriage: John Abraham, Junius Audley, and Jeanette Ann Fendel.

Emma Fendel

Emma Kler Fendel, 81, of Tacoma, Wash., died Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma.

She was born May 29, 1910, to Karl Emil and Flora (Meyer) Kler in Keota.

Mrs. Fendel attended Olin School and graduated from Greeley High School in 1929.

On Nov. 17, 1929, she married John Fendel in Greeley. In 1940, they moved to Tacoma. She worked in the publications department as a civil service, civilian employee from Fort Lewis, Wash., retiring in January 1979. Her husband died May 1968.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Jennette Tudor of Tacoma; a son, John A. of Tacoma; a sister, Rose Vaughan of Greeley; two brothers, August Kler of Hemet, Calif., and Julian Kler of Greeley; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. A son, Junius, and two brothers, Edward and Albert "Mike" Kler are deceased.

Memorial services arranged by Dryer's Funeral Home, 220 S. 134th St., Tacoma, Wash., 98444. Inurnment will be in Firlane Cemetery in Spanaway, Wash.

Contributions may be sent in her name in care of the Dryer Funeral Home.
